"The staff were excellent. Friendly, courteous and helpful. Also, the hotel is in walking distance to most of what Dumagette is known for. The condition of the property could use some updating but in didn’t bother me the least."

"The only negative for me is this resort could be physically challenging as there are steps to negotiate between the Accommodation and the Restaurant/Reception. Positives are many. The Swiss Chalet style villas are spacious and the timber work is indeed a work of art. Bed was comfortable. The Aircon works well. Lockable safe. Pool is large and clean. I enjoyed breakfast and dinner and portions are large. Staff go out of their way to ensure you have a pleasant stay. The view from the Restaurant...

"I booked at Golden Gates years back, it went great! I recently booked again at GG because of my previous experience with them. Golden Gates again was a great experience. Staff were very nice and professional. My flight was rebooked and I needed to stay an extra night, the transition was very fast and easy. Stores are nearby to purchase any necessities. If I’m ever in Dumaguete again, I’ll be staying at Golden Gates without hesitation. "

"The location is in an elevated setting quite high in the mountain offering guests a clear view of the trees and peak of the mountain range. The owner Dan is pleasant and offers guests a tour of property and shares insights on the surrounding area. The inside of property is neat and organized for guests. If you have children, the local dogs on the property are quite noisy all night (5-7 dogs) and seem to act as a security detail. "

"Stayed here several times when passing through Dumaguete. Nice open air breezeway. Short walk to Rizal, 7-11 across the park. Got a room with two beds, both the room and the bathroom were large, good aircon and tv. No breakfast resto anymore, but there is a new coffee shop in lobby with Filipino foods. Siren nearby went off twice around 9 & 10 pm after I was asleep👎"
