"The renovations for this hotel were a great surprise! I loved the easy-to-clean flooring (no carpet) in the rooms! The room was clean which is my #1 concern. I loved that we could do a 1-night stay as our schedule didn’t allow for more. It was a convenient drive to Gunstock and the kids loved the indoor pool and hot tub. The woman who worked at the front desk was such a sweet and welcoming person! She was very accommodating and friendly!"

"The smoke detector was not in working order. Only part of it was on the wall with wires hanging out of it. The pool was closed for what reason I don't know. Disappointing as we were planning to swim while we were there. It was quite noisy there. You could hear people outside the room talking at all hours and clomping down the outside stairwell. It was quite warm in the room and if you tried to cool it down, the unit would blow directly on the bed causing a major draft on your body. There was...

"This hotel is in a quiet neighborhood. The staff are friendly. The breakfast is ok. Same food everyday. We stayed a feel nights so I went out and bought English muffins ( they had white toast and sugar muffins ) cheese, hot sauce and precooked bacon. I was making my own egg muffin daily ! They have 24/7 hot coffee /hot water. That is a plus. There is a pool that my husband enjoyed. There is no jacuzzi. "I like staying here. Yes, it's an older property and a bit worn. The price reflects that though. The other near by properties are much higher in price but it's hit and miss on cleanliness and quietness. But here at the Anchorage it's clean. It's quiet. The staff has always greeted me with a smile and are helpful. Whenever I have to come back here for meetings I will stay at the Rochester Anchorage."

"Perfect place perfect location. Owner met us and explained everything. Accommodations were so nice…parking lot/stairs/steps well treated on a cold winter day. So proximate to downtown and lake area but off the bustle section. AM breakfast was beyond stellar…was worth every penny and "

"This historic property has been lovingly refurbished into a modern day inn. There are clean,shared bathrooms. The outside porch and sitting areas overlook the lake with fabulous views. The owner was friendly and made home made muffins for breakfast. My only complaint is the noise from the motocyclists during the evening."

"I have stayed at the Inn for the last few years to visit my daughter for her birthday. I am a walker and have walked the Rail to Trail most times that I visit. This year it was not walkable without treckers. Suggestion: It would be great to have them available to rent!"

Disappointing as we were planning to swim while we were there. It was quite noisy there. You could hear people outside the room talking at all hours and clomping down the outside stairwell. It was quite warm in the room and if you tried to cool it down, the unit would blow directly on the bed causing a major draft on your body. There was no way to redirect the airflow. Also, our in room phone rang once around 3 in the morning. Just enough to wake us from a deep sleep. Hence it was not a good restful stay for us. "
