Super close to the fun FU bar. You can also easily walk to the mountain for some trails. Only downside is the doors lock at a specific time. That was fine as I was jet lag. Def recommend this location! Breakfast had a lot of options if you chose it. "

"The residence is in a quiet peaceful location reached via a windy hillly road. In the 4 nights we stayed in early September, we saw, from the large windows of our rooms, clear views of the hills and mountain, starry nights, misty cloudy views and even a lightening show. All spectacular. The two rooms were spacious enough and clean to our liking, affordable, the staff friendly and Chamonix a half hour drive away. "

We were seated with our dog and our drinks order was taken. We were then approached 5 minutes later by the waiter to be told that his manager said we could not dine with the dog (the dog was asleep at my feet at the time). "The location of Hotel des lacs is perfect for someone who wants to be in Chamonix for UTMB because downtown is only a short walk giving easy access to race activities and restaurants. The Hotel is located across the street from a beautiful park with a little lake. Our room was clean quiet and simple. Breakfast was available for a small additional charge. The staff was friendly and helpful. We felt at home."

"Fairly basic hotel, 10 minutes out of town. Seems to appeal to French families with children & provides entertainment each evening. Two items on their website found not to be true. Ski in ski out! Only for x-country. Free breakfast turned out to be €7 pp. "
