"Was upgraded to a great family room with a view of the Castle. The room and hotel had character I wasn’t expecting. Great central location including for the station. "

"Cheap price, but price definitely reflects the accommodation. Ripped curtain, stains on the floor, fridge with microwave ontop of it, room smelt like some one had just warmed up a bowl of soup. Bathroom tap faucet broken, no iron or ironing board, no cups, hand lotion in a tiny tube but no hand wash. Bed was comfy and clean sheets and towels, shower worked fine. If you are purely bothered about a place to sleep and not concerned about any of the other things that come as standard in most hotels...

"Hotel area a little tired especially entrance stairs, room was good a bit cold on entry but soon warmed up once I worked out the aircon unit which is explained in a handy instruction guide. Food was very good and the discount for guests was a nice touch "

"This accommodation is perfect for a low cost city stay. The staff are very welcoming and there are good facilities. The building is old and the furnishings pretty basic, but overall, l would stay again and would recommend."

"Fabulous staff. Excellent food. Very comfortable bed. Shower head had a leak but was replaced very promptly. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Only slight criticism would be that it was a bit messy near the bedrooms. "

"The hotel was in the perfect location for the rail station, which was the reason for booking. The hotel was adequate in regards to their facilities, and the owner was very friendly, which is always a plus. The room was small, but fine for an overnight stay. It was a little bit musty in smell, though probably just needed airing a little bit more. Breakfast was reasonable and I was accommodated for allergies and preference. "

"The Red Lion is ideally situated in Bakewell,although there is no parking at the accommodation,there is plenty nearby. The only negative comment id make about the accommodation is the double bed is very small,other than that the rooms are very clean etc The town is very quiet,and there's not a lot happening on an evening "
