"Arrived at hotel at 14.10 to find hotel closed and a note on door saying “closed until 17.00” we called a number left on the door and after pleading with the lady she returned 20 mins later. We checked in and were charged a few euros more than that stated on the booking. We were so tired after driving from the uk we just paid and went to the room. On a positive note the restaurant next door is excellent. There is also a very good wine shop one door along from the restaurant. "

A note that it was very quiet in Royan and considered out of season ( our whitsun week off school) therefore it was hard to get a meal later than 7 and their was practically nobody around! L'hôtel est calme mais les planchers craquent (ce qui fait que si vous avez une chambre au-dessus, vous entendez le déplacement des gens). Personnellement, même si il sonne à chaque heure, le clocher de l'église proche n'a pas été un souci. Le petit déjeuner est copieux mais sans prétention (très classique : pain blanc, croissant (pas de pain au chocolat proposé), très bon café. Ma seule contrariété vient...
