"Upon arrival the owner met us and unlocked the front door to reception, not friendly at all, we were told restaurant was available only for breakfast which was too late for us as we were catching a ferry. We were told to always use the back door for access, as front door would be locked, strange for a hotel, but the most annoying thing was the look on her face , she looked at us like we were a piece of dirt from under her shoe, unbelievably rude to say the least. Stay away! Nice area, but not...

"Second time I've stayed here. Convenient for the golf course and supermarket and a pleasant walk into a lovely town. Along with some places in Normandy, Bethune is the friendliest place that my Friends and I have found in France. Very good breakfast and nice Lady on reception - plus Thomas the cat. We also enjoyed a nice bottle of fizz in the pleasant garden."

"Charming historic Coaching Hotel in the old part of St Omer near the centre and the Cathedral. Excellent hosts with good breakfast and an excellent restaurant. Off street parking and late night entrance available. The rooms were very clean with comfy beds, bathroom adequate with decent water pressure and plenty of hot water. The Hotel has great character but is in need of TLC plus no lift, lots of stairs. We had a great stay at a very reasonable price."

"I arrived at 7.30 pm after a long drive from the South of France to find the hotel locked up with nobody there at all. The bar and restaurant were both closed as well. There was a handwritten note on the door giving a telephone number. I phoned and was told that there was a side door and I was given a digicode to gain entry and a room number for me.
