"This motel is very close to the sand dunes. Wonderful view from the room. There is a nice covered patio that opens to a large field. This was great for seeing the stars. We booked the deluxe king. It had 2 sofa beds. The room was a really nice size. I removed a star because the sofa pullout beds were the most uncomfortable beds I have ever experienced (and my expectations are really low on this front.) They were all springs. Even sitting on it for a short time hurt. So, I recommend...

"The free breakfast isn't the best and orange juice is baby small. Biscuit and gravy is just that, ONE biscuit. Bacon wasn't all the way cooked. We topped the waitress and chose to eat somewhere else. Room was clean but mattress was super noisy and worn out. "

"Pretty good if you don't mind the vinyl flooring and a little wear and tear on the facilities, as you'd expect at this price point. Everything was clean and functional. My only complaint is that the in-room HVAC system was louder than usual and woke me up a few times during the night. It wasn't bad enough to keep me from recommending the hotel, though. I'd stay here again."

"We were originally booked into the neighboring Holiday Inn Express, but their pool was under repair and they allowed us to cancel our prepaid reservation. Hampton Inn had a room at a decent rate and the pool and hot tub were available. Room was large, beds were comfortable, plenty of hot water, and quiet. The breakfast was the standard eggs, potatoes, and sausage. Very nice overall and would stay there again."

"The beds felt uneven. The foot of my wife's bed was lower than the head. My bed was not level from one side to the other. Other than that, the property was very clean and we were made very welcomed by the staff. If you have special diet needs such as diabetic needs, you wouldbe better served by bringing your own breakfast supplies."

"The Rustic Rook Resort is a fabulous new addition to the Yurt/Bin wave of alternative to hotel stays. It is just a few miles from the Great Sand Dunes National Park that is simply awe inspiring and has fabulous sledding on the Dunes for the entire family. Excellent dining is about 20 minutes away in downtown Alamosa. The stars at night are incredible. We stayed in a Bin, which was less rustic than the name would imply. It was perfect for my husband and I, and our dog. We wouldn't hesitate...

"Extremely nice facility! Plenty of room for a large group. Well stocked with all the supplies needed. It was very icy weather when we arrived in January ( of course - it's Colorado), therefore being located at a high altitude we had a little trouble getting up the road leading to the cabin.
