"The staff were very friendly and kind. The breakfast served was one of the best we’ve had at any hotel with lots of variety and such fresh fruit. We enjoyed walking through the vineyard and found it an excellent spot to explore Douro. Highly recommend. "

"Quinta da Barroca is an excellent place for a relaxed family time in Douro or for an event. It lacks some maintenance or improvement in some things (such as the children's park and the sauna/jacuzzi), but the houses and the scenery are great. Breakfast could have some more variety, but it's good enough, the fruit is excellent, apples right from the tree "

"A nice village in the mountains of the Douro Valley region; quiet, safe place. Great local restaurant. Easy driving to and from regional sights."

"We loved the European style of sharing a large breakfast table with guests at the property. Learning different cultures and about their home countries Home cooking, fresh baked, vineyards all around. The other guests were amazing people who assisted us with translations as needed. The property keepers were an amazing elderly couple who were kind, happy and loving. It is a small village with stone streets, narrow passages and just so much charm.
