"It was so clean, tidy, and fragrant in my room! The humidifier kept my room cool and it was so nice to have been upgraded with a private shower! Receptionist was also very friendly and super helpful :) I felt very comfortable and relaxed here. Thanks Pension Elisabeth :)"

"On the surface this property seems great, and for the most part, is. The staff was kind and helpful, the location was great, and it was easy to check in/out. I am giving this hotel a poor rating because of the noise in its location. Myself and those I stayed with got hardly any sleep due to noise outside of the hotel throughout all hours of the night. Anif Castle, located at the southern city limits of Salzburg, Austria, looks the quintessential romantic fairy tale. The castle gained notoriety in films like The Sound of Music, The Great Race, The Odessa Files and The Slipper and the Rose. Erected in the early 16th century, the castle was rebuilt by Prince-Archbishop Johann Ernst von Thun about 1693 and served as the summer residence of the Bishops of Chiemsee. Redesigned in the mid-19th century in the current neo-Gothic style, Anif Castle was the refuge of the deposed king Ludwig III of Bavaria during the German revolution of 1918-19. Today the castle is privately owned by the family von Moy.
